Train a Cane Corso puppy while you can still pick them up. This breed learns fast. They also remember the rules you accidentally taught — jumping, pulling, ignoring a recall.
The first five things
- A name that you use the same way every time.
- A crate that means rest, not exile.
- Sit and wait at doors and food.
- A loose leash. A Corso who pulls at 40 pounds will drag you at 100.
- A settle on a bed while the house is awake.
House-raised helps, it does not finish the job
Casa Forte puppies grow up around voices, floors, and crates. That makes week one calmer. It does not replace your training. You still need short daily sessions and a walk that is a walk, not a negotiation.
Keep it simple
Five minutes, three times a day, beats a one-hour lecture. Use food. Use praise. Do not use fear. A frightened Corso is not “respectful.” A frightened Corso is a problem you will meet again at two years old.
